Atas perbuatannya, mantan kekasih W ini bisa dikenakan ancaman pidana penjara paling lama 12 (dua belas) tahun dan/atau denda paling banyak Rp. 2.000.000.000,- (dua milyar rupiah) Ini bisa dilihat di Pasal 45 ayat 2 UU ITE. Selanjutnya isi SMS yang berisi ancaman tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai alat bukti untuk melaporkan si pengancam kepada Polisi.
